MAPEI Mapelastic A + B sealing slurry flexible 2K sealing balconies terraces 32KG
Application:
Before laying ceramic tiles, make waterproof coatings on cementitious substrates, seal bathrooms, showers, balconies, terraces, swimming pools, etc. Mapelastic can be applied over cement screed, plaster, existing ceramic tile floors, natural stone, terrazzo, etc. provided they are clean and bonded firmly to the surface.
The thickness of a single layer should not exceed 2mm, while the thickness of two layers of insulation should be at least 2mm. When applying the mortar on horizontal surfaces, on substrates particularly exposed to stress or cracks, it is recommended to embed Mapenet 150 mesh (4×4.5 mm) in the second layer.
To increase the strength of the insulation layer and crack bridging, it is recommended to embed Mapetex Sel polypropylene fleece before applying the second layer.
The mortar should be applied to a damp but not wet substrate. The Mapelastic waterproofing layer should be protected from rain for the first 24 hours after installation.
Areas of application:
Crack-bridging, fibre-reinforced compound seal under ceramic tiles and slabs as well as artificial and natural stone.
Tested in the system in accordance with the construction and testing principles of the DIBt with the laying mortars Adesilex P9, Granirapid, Mapestone Basic, Mapestone TM, Adesilex P10 + Isolastic, Keraflex Maxi S1, Keraflex Vario Quick S1 and Elastorapid.
Corresponds to the requirements of the ZDB information sheet "Notes on the implementation of seals in combination with cladding and coverings made of tiles and slabs for indoor and outdoor use".
Suitable for seals according to DIN 18531, DIN 18534: W0-I to W3-I, DIN 18535: W1-B, W2-B and S1-B, S2-B
Technical specifications:

SCOPE OF APPLICATION
Sealing and protection of concrete components, plaster and cement screeds.
Application examples
• Sealing of concrete tanks for water (national guidelines and requirements must be observed here).
• Bonded sealing under ceramic tiles and natural stones in wet rooms, showers, swimming pools, balconies and terraces etc. (see "NATIONAL SPECIAL FEATURES").
• Sealing of gypsum plasterboard, plaster or cementitious substrates, aerated concrete blocks and waterproof plywood panels.
• Flexible fine filling of concrete surfaces at risk of cracking.
• Protection of plaster or concrete surfaces with shrinkage cracks against penetrating moisture or harmful gases from the atmosphere.
• Carbonation protection of reinforced concrete structures, such as concrete pillars or beams and road and railway bridges, after their repair with products from the Mapegrout line or when the concrete cover is insufficient.
• Protection against chlorides and sulfates, e.g. B. in seawater structures or surfaces exposed to de-icing salt.
ADVANTAGES
• Flexibility at low temperatures (-20°C).
• More than 20 years of experience and more than 300 million successfully sealed objects.
• CE certified according to EN 1504-2 and EN 14891.
• More than 50 years of effective surface protection of concrete parts against CO2 penetration (carbonation).
• UV resistance.
• 2.5 mm dry layer thickness of Mapelastic corresponds to the protective effect of a 30 mm thick layer of concrete (w/c = 0.45) against the harmful effects of chloride.
• Can be applied to existing, suitably cleaned old substrates.
• Can be used as a bonded seal with ceramic coverings, mosaics and natural stone (see "NATIONAL SPECIAL FEATURES").
TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS
Mapelastic is a two-component mortar consisting of high-quality cements, selected sands, special additives and synthetic polymers in an aqueous solution.
Mixing both components results in a smooth fresh mortar that can also be applied very easily to vertical surfaces in a wet layer thickness of up to 2 mm in one operation.
The high content of high-quality resins gives Mapelastic, once cured, lasting flexibility in a wide range of environmental conditions and resistance to chemical attack from de-icing salts, sulphates, chlorides and carbon dioxide, as well as UV exposure.
Mapelastic has excellent adhesion to concrete, masonry, ceramics and natural stone, provided these substrates are firm and clean.
This property, combined with the UV resistance of the product, ensures the protection and waterproofing effect of Mapelastic over a long period of time, even in unfavorable climatic conditions such as e.g
Coastal areas with a salty atmosphere or industrial areas with high levels of air pollution.
Mapelastic complies with the principles of EN 1504-9 ("Products and systems for the protection and repair of concrete structures - Definition, requirements, quality control and assessment of conformity - General principles for the use of products and systems") and the minimum requirements of EN 1504-2 ("Surface protection systems for concrete") Coatings (C) according to the principles PI, MC and IR.
Mapelastic meets the requirements of class CMO2P according to EN 14891 (“Waterproof products to be applied in liquid form in combination with ceramic tiles and paving”).
